BULLETINS: Feb. 19-22

Friday, February 22:
Reminder: All students that are not in an after-school activity MUST go to the 3rd floor study hall area.
Congratulations: Jacob Jang will be attending the DAR luncheon today to accept the Good Citizens Award.
MS Scholastic Bowl: For the competition in Ottawa tomorrow, competitors should meet in Woodman’s parking lot at 5:30 a.m.
US Math Team: Team members need to be at the tournament tomorrow at 9:40 a.m.
Quiz Bowl Team: Those competing in the quiz bowl at Barrington should see Mr. Fischer today.
College News: Jeannie Maeng has been accepted at the Art Institute of Chicago and the School of Visual Arts in New York.  Matt Greer has been accepted at the University of Iowa.  Sophia Nicolosi has been accepted at Illinois Wesleyan.  Peter Zammuto and Jacob Jang have both been accepted at Augustana College.  
Fun Fair:
 Students are needed to work at the Fun Fair on March 1.  Those interested in volunteering should speak to Mr. Nunez.

Volunteering:

  • Students that wish to look for volunteer opportunities can visit www.wevolunteer.org for a listing of organizations.
  • Eagle Academic Camp will be held at Keith School for three weeks in July.  Upper school volunteers are needed.  Please see information on the 3rd floor bulletin board.

Seniors: A letter was mailed home to parents of the senior students regarding putting senior pictures in the yearbook.  The deadline for this is March 1!
AP Exams: AP Exams will be held in May.  Registration forms have been mailed home.  Forms are expected back with payment for the exams by March 15.
Exchange Program: Any students that are interested in exploring life abroad for 3 weeks in the summer should speak to Dr. Lee and get more information.

Clubs
SAB: SAB is sponsoring a Sadie Hawkins Dance on March 9 for upper school students.  Tickets are $7.00/single or $10/couple.  For a charge of $1.00, girls can have Ben Ross dress up like a cowboy and lasso a guy of their choice to be their date.

Sports
MS Girls’ Basketball: Game tonight is cancelled.  It will be rescheduled.

Tuesday, February 19:

Announcements:
Bake Sale: The sophomore class is sponsoring their 2-Bite Tuesday sale today.
Interim: 
Interim begins tomorrow.  The middle & upper school students will be studying the Renaissance era. There will be a field trip on Thursday and all middle and upper school students will need to be on the buses at 7:30 a.m.  Students must bring money, a sack lunch or use their lunch tickets for lunch tomorrow and Friday.  Middle school students will need their laptops.  All students should have a notebook and a pen or pencil for the next 3 days.

MS Solo & Ensemble:
Several middle school students competed over the weekend in a competition.  All students received a Division 1 rating with a few perfect scores.  Congratulations Francheska Brzazgon (alto sax) and Ken Zheng (piano) for the Division I ratings!  Congratulations to Jamie Zussman (piano), Devyn McNeany (solo), Rebecca Lisk (solo), Devyn McNeany & Rebecca Lisk (duet) for their Division I ratings and perfect scores.
US Scholastic Bowl: The US team competed in the Masonic Sectionals over the weekend.  They went undefeated and will advance to the state competition on March 2 in Springfield.  There will be a mandatory meeting tomorrow at 3:20 in room 204.

Varsity Boys’ Basketball: The Cougars will begin regional play tonight vs. Dakota at Freeport Aquin High School.  The player bus will leave Keith School at 4:15.  There will be room on this bus for fans.  See Mr. Nunez.  Tickets to the game are $4.00 and available with Mrs. Doherty.
