We’re honored that your research for the “right fit” private school has led you to want to know more about Keith Country Day School. We recognize you may have many questions and our goal is to provide you with a broad overview of Keith, our unique differentiators, and why so many families call our school “home.”
Keith Country Day School is often described as one of the most beautiful preschool through 12th-grade campuses in the entire Northern Illinois. Our 15-acre property is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful trees and a picturesque view of the Rock River. Located less than half a mile from community resources like Sinnissippi Park, the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, the Nicholas Conservatory and Anderson Japanese Gardens, Keith is the perfect environment for young students to explore the world around them.
Keith is organized into three distinct schools – a Lower School (ages 3 to 5th grade), a Middle School (6th – 8th grade) and an Upper School (9th – 12th grade) – to ensure our students are connected and challenged to thrive at the pace best for them. We enroll talented, motivated, and diverse students from every economic, ethnic, and social background.
Keith maintains an average class size of 12-15 students so teachers develop personal relationships and identifies each student’s individual strengths, skills, and needs. Our teachers have the freedom to promote creative thinking in hands-on ways and to introduce students to exciting and challenging subjects including art, music, drama, foreign languages, global and environmental studies, and technology. We offer enrichment programs to challenge students in the specific areas in which they excel, as well as resources to assist students in areas they may need additional support.
As the region’s leading private school, Keith offers the very best in educational opportunities for students as they prepare for the opportunities and challenges of collegiate life – and beyond.
