With a teaching career spanning nearly two decades, Byron native, Ms. Passmore comes to Keith with substantial experience in both elementary and secondary education. Holding a B.A. in Spanish and Secondary Education and a M.A. in Teaching and Instructional Strategies from Rockford University, Ms. Passmore is also certified in Elementary, Language Arts, and Spanish.
In her most recent role, Ms. Passmore was a 4th grade teacher at Oregon Elementary School in Oregon, IL, where she leveraged learning tools like gamification to successfully engage her students on their level. Before teaching at Oregon Elementary, Ms. Passmore also served as a K-12 substitute teacher within the Byron School District. Prior to her role as an elementary school teacher, Ms. Passmore also taught Spanish at the high school level at schools in Byron, IL and Menomonee Falls, WI.
Ms. Passmore is thrilled to have the opportunity to provide the Keith community with student-centered instruction based on current best practices, including the Science of Reading. Passionate about establishing positive rapport and trust with her students, Ms. Passmore believes doing so helps lead to academic and behavioral gains both in and out of the classroom.
