Mr. Larson is a music educator with nearly 30 years of experience. A longtime private studio instructor, Mr. Larson provides individualized instruction to students of all ages on saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, and piano. His pupils have gone on to be named Illinois Music Education Association honors band chair and Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra principal clarinet chair, and have won numerous scholarships.
Mr. Larson also provides individual instruction at The Music Academy in Rockford, providing lessons in the saxophone and clarinet and preparing students for recitals and auditions. He also is a long-time member of the Rockford Wind Ensemble.
With a deep love of music, Mr. Larson is passionate about its importance and positive influence on not just the individual but the broader community. He seeks to pass the gift of music on to as many people as possible.
Mr. Larson previously served as an adjunct instructor in the Rock Valley College music department, teaching Introduction to Music Literature, Fundamentals of Music, and providing private saxophone lessons. While there he also served as substitute jazz ensemble director.
Mr. Larson holds a Bachelor of Music, Theory and History from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Master of Music from DePaul University. In addition to specializing in saxophone performance, he also studied clarinet and piano.
