Mr. Reynolds joined Keith after retiring from Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois, where he taught English for 27 years.
After graduating from Dominican University with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and a minor in history, he earned a Master of Arts in English literature from Loyola University of Chicago. Mr. Reynolds also holds endorsements for grades 6-12 in language arts, social science, English, journalism, U.S. history, and world history.
During his tenure at Hononegah, Mr. Reynolds taught a wide range of courses, including AP English Literature and Composition, AP Language and Composition, College Writing and Rhetoric, Dramatic Literature, British Literature, Humanities, and ACT and SAT Test Prep. He also served as both English department coordinator and coordinator for the school’s gifted program.
Mr. Reynolds has been the recipient of notable honors, including the Illinois State Board of Education “Those Who Excel” award, University of Chicago Outstanding Teacher Recognition, and has been nominated for a Golden Apple for Excellence in Secondary Education multiple times.
Throughout his career, Mr. Reynolds has also held teaching positions at York Community High School in Elmhurst, Illinois and Immaculate Heart of Mary High School in Westchester, Illinois, and served as adjunct English professor and ESL/ELL teacher at Morton Community College in Cicero, Illinois.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Reynolds is a consultant for the College Board, responsible for conducting regional, national, and international AP workshops, evaluating AP tests, and mentoring AP teachers in their efforts to improve as instructors. He was also a contributing editor and writer for Perfection Learning Company’s AP Literature and Composition and AP Language and Composition textbooks in 2020-2021.
