Mrs. Valencia Ponce is Keith’s Spanish teacher. A native of Mexico, Mrs. Valencia Ponce graduated from the Universidad Contemporánea de las Américas with a bachelor’s degree in pedagogy and a minor in elementary education.
Prior to joining Keith as a full-time teacher, Mrs. Valencia Ponce spent two years as an instructor for Discovery Language Programs, where she taught Spanish to K-8th students at private schools throughout the region, including All Saints Catholic Academy, Immanuel Lutheran School, and Keith.
Mrs. Valencia Ponce’s goal in the classroom is to cultivate a positive learning environment to ensure the highest quality education for all students. She believes strongly in ongoing open communication with families to encourage student success.
Before moving to the U.S., Mrs. Valencia Ponce taught English to K-5th grade classes at the Instituto de Inglés Impronta, in Michoacán, México. In her free time, she volunteered at various organizations. At the Asilo de Ancianos nursing home, Mrs. Valencia Ponce assisted residents and organized kitchen inventory. She also volunteered at the Escuela Primaria Andres Quintana Roo elementary school where she taught math, social studies, and Spanish to second grade students.
