Ms. Carter is an artist whose paintings and sculptures have been exhibited nationally at institutions including the Frye Art Museum, Seattle, WA; Plattsburgh State University, NY; Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Madison, WI; Contemporary Art Workshop, Chicago, IL; and locally at the Rockford Art Museum. Her teaching experience includes several years of museum education in Chicago and Milwaukee where she led studio art programs and curriculum development at the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Terra Foundation for American Art. Since settling in Rockford in 2006 with her husband, a Professor of Art at Rockford University, and their two sons, Ms. Carter has taught art courses at Rock Valley College, served as the Gallery Director at Rockford University, and has taught art in K-12 schools.
