School Librarian & Lower School Technology Teacher
B.S., Communication Disorders, Northern Illinois University
With an education-focused career spanning more than 20 years, Mrs. Zimmerman brings her broad and extensive experience – from tutoring to substitute teaching and more – to Keith. Holding a B.S. in Communication Disorders from Northern Illinois University, Mrs. Zimmerman’s goal is to foster a love for learning with students and support diverse student needs in her role as Keith’s School Librarian and Lower Technology Teacher.
Prior to joining Keith, Mrs. Zimmerman served as an Assistant Library Specialist with Rockford School District #205, where she supported the library media specialist in managing and organizing the school library’s collection and provided instructional support – including technology assistance – to students and staff.
Over the course of her career, Mrs. Zimmerman has also served as a university-level tutor, homeschool instructor, substitute teacher, and a special education paraprofessional. She is excited for the opportunity to blend her extensive education background with her library science and technology knowledge to help create an engaging, tech-forward learning environment for Keith students.
Mrs. Zimmerman enjoys attending and cheering on her four teenagers at their academic and sporting events. She also dedicates time to being an advocate for parents navigating challenges and resources for children with disabilities. In her spare time, she loves to read and is happiest in a library, thus her position at Keith is her dream job.
